IN DIEM Abogados Receives the Emilio Castelar Award for Its Commitment to Justice
On September 28, 2018, at the headquarters of the Cajasol Foundation in Seville, the eleventh annual Emilio Castelar Awards Gala 2018 was held, bringing together national and international figures from the social, political, legal, economic, and cultural spheres.
The prestigious Emilio Castelar Awards for the Defense of Freedoms and the Progress of Peoples, established in 2008, recognize work and the defense of fundamental rights inspired by the figure of the Cádiz-born politician Emilio Castelar.
Notable figures among the recipients in previous years include Uruguayan President José Mujica, Spanish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Alfredo Pérez Rubalcaba, French Councilor of State Sami Naïr, journalist Iñaki Gabilondo, as well as organizations such as Save the Children, the National Confederation of Social Economy Enterprises, and the Guatemalan Women’s Association, among many others.
The 2018 Gala honored Jon Sistiaga, Jesús Eguiguren, Jesús Calleja, Patricio Farcuh, Rozalén, as well as the Don Bosco Foundation, Canal Sur, and Memoria Histórica. The gala featured a performance by singer Clara Montes, who presented her latest album, *Del alma a Lorca*, in tribute to and memory of the Andalusian author.
