For the international circulation of documents, their legalization is necessary. This means that by presenting them to various organizations (Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Consulates, etc.), the authenticity of the document and its signature is verified and certified so that it may take effect in the destination country.

This matter, as the author points out, in the current climate where data on individuals and companies seeking their future outside our borders is overwhelming (it should be noted that youth emigration has increased by 41% since 2008 and exports now represent 34% of GDP, placing Spain second only to Germany), requires knowledge and use of all tools related to document legalization, in order to reduce temporal and economic costs in these processes.

Through this document, it defines the most common channels for the legalization of Spanish documents abroad and describes the mechanisms used by IN DIEM Abogados’ document legalization department.
